The apartment
This very comfortable apartment is located on the ground floor of a small 16th century palace, in the heart of Trastevere, the medieval district of Rome. It is composed of a large lounge room with dining room, two bedrooms, the kitchen, two bathrooms and a hobby room. One of the bedrooms is larger and has a loft. Thus it can accommodate two couples since there is a double bed on each level. The other bedroom has a loft double bed (Ikea) and a pouf that contains a single foldable bed. The apartment can accommodate up to six or seven people.

The apartment surface is about 110 square meters (1184 square feet). It is completely independent as it is accessed directly from the street, but nonetheless it is very quiet since it is located in a most characteristic alley where cars are not allowed.

The lounge room, with a fireplace, is furnished with a three seats couch, two armchairs, a large beautiful wooden library, a dinner table for eight, and other pieces of ancient furniture.

The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, electric oven, microwave oven, fridge, freezer, dish-washer, toaster, boiler, espresso coffee-pot, tableware, pots, cutlery and other accessories of common usage.

The two bathrooms have showers, one of which is multifunctional Jacuzzi-type.

In the downstairs shop, you will find an iron with ironing board a clothes-horse with a dehumidifier (for quick drying).

The gas heating is independent, and for the warmest months there are two air-conditioning systems. Prices include weekly linen change and house cleaning. Extra charge for DSL broadband connection (€20/week) and long distance phone calls.

The neighborhood
Trastevere once was a popular district inhabited by artisans and small traders attracted there by the proximity of the docks on the south of Tiber Island. This character, still strongly persistent, is enhanced by the fascination of the medieval alleys and of the magnificent basilicas, together with the city's most intense night life, numberless high-class restaurants, picturesque pizza houses, and pubs. Trastevere is bordered by the Tiber River and has many ancient bridges that link it with the rest of the old city centre. Very close by the apartment, there is Ponte Fabricio (Fabricius Bridge), crossing to the Isola Tiberina (Tiber Island). It was built in 62 BC, and it is the most ancient bridge in Rome and the only classical bridge to remain intact without help from the restorers. As for the island, housing the most ancient hospital of the city, and the wonderful 10th Century church of San Bartolomeo, is certainly worth a visit on the way.

Rome guide - our tour recommendations

St.Peter's Church tour
Start at the Gianicolo and enjoy the view. After a refreshment at Gianicolo, continue walking to the Vatican and further to St. Peter' Church. After visiting the church you may also continue to Sant'Angelo Castle.

Le piazze tour
Walk to Largo Argentina. Start with Pantheon, continue to Piazza Navona is just beside. Campo de Fiori is very near as well. One could take a bus and proceed to Piazza Spagna (Spanish Steps), Fontana di Trevi, etc.

Coliseum, Foro Romano, Piazza Venezia
Just take a bus, stop at “Colosseo”. Foro Romano is just beside, the tour ends at Piazza Venezia.

Villa Panfili

Experience one of the most marvelous parks in Italy. I recommend to try first Villa Sciarra which is much smaller than Villa Panfili. It's a day long tour to walk the whole park.

These are just few suggestions, Rome offers endless options. Make your own combinations!
